Jeremy Michell is Deputy Director of the Hong Kong Maritime Museum, with responsibility for the Curatorial and Education teams. Previously, he served as Senior Curator at the National Maritime Museum, London, where he worked for 22 years.
His research focuses on 18th- and 19th century British and European naval and polar history. He has extensive experience researching and promoting a wide range of collections, including technical ship drawings, ship models, photographs, and polar artefacts and equipment.
Jeremy has contributed to numerous exhibitions and gallery developments, and has written and edited books on polar exploration, ships’ figureheads, and maritime photography. His next book, on technical ship drawings, is scheduled for publication in 2027.
