Yizhou Wang is an Assistant Professor in Chinese Art and Culture at Hong Kong Chu Hai College. She obtained a PhD in East Asian Art History from Heidelberg University, Germany. She was previously Research Assistant Professor at Hong Kong Baptist University and lectured at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She was also a Mercator Fellow at the University of Münster, Research Associate at Kyoto University and Visiting Scholar at the University of Tokyo. Her research interests include Chinese painting, Ming-Qing visual and material culture, gender studies, plant humanities, early East Asian photography, and transregional artistic interactions within East Asia. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Chung Cheng Chinese Studies, Ming Qing Studies, Research on Women in Modern Chinese History and edited volumes such as Plants and Gardens as Artefacts in Transcultural Contexts.
