WANG Guanyu

Dr. Wang Guanyu is the Objects Curator at the Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She focuses on the research of the production, trade and consumption of Chinese porcelain during the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as the interactions between material cultures in the context of early globalization between East and West. Dr. Wang has participated in several archaeological projects, two of which were awarded as “China’s Top 10 New Archaeological Discoveries”. She has curated multiple exhibitions on ceramics, including “Refilling the Interregnum: Newly Discovered Imperial Porcelains from the Zhengtong, Jingtai and Tianshun Reigns (1436-1464) of the Ming Dynasty” (2018), “Enchanting Expeditions: Chinese Trade Porcelains across the Globe” (2021), and “Yuan Blue and White: New Discoveries from Jingdezhen” (2025). She is currently co-investigating a GRF project, “The Ming Court and the World Beyond: Production, Circulation and Consumption of Dragon Porcelain from the 15th to the Early 17th Centuries”.
