Professor of Practice in the Department of Sociology (Arts, Culture, and Technology Programme) at Hong Kong Shue Yan University

Libby Chan is currently Professor of Practice in the Department of Sociology (Arts, Culture, and Technology Programme) at Hong Kong Shue Yan University, dedicated to integrating academic research with practical applications in the museum, art, and cultural sectors. Previously, she served as the Director of the Indra and Harry Banga Gallery at the City University of Hong Kong, Chief Curator and Assistant Director (Exhibitions and Collections) of the Hong Kong Maritime Museum, Senior Curator (China) at the Asian Civilisations Museum, National Heritage Board of Singapore, and a Curatorial Fellow at the National Museum of Asian Art, Smithsonian Institution, in Washington, D.C., USA. Her curatorial and research interests include museology and art technology, Cross-cultural exchanges, and Chinese ritual and export arts.
