Huang Hao-Ting is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of History and Philology, Academia Sinica, and holds a PhD in History from National Cheng Kung University. His research focuses on seventeenth-century East Asian maritime exchange, Ming-Qing ceramic consumption, and visual culture. He is particularly interested in inscribed poetry on Jingdezhen porcelain, Arita porcelain, and Kyoto ceramics from the late Ming to the early Qing period, and in the Sino-Japanese ceramic exchanges reflected therein. His recent work examines how Tang and Song poetry was transformed into cultural commodities in seventeenth-century cross-regional markets, shaping literati-style consumption and its reception and reinvention in Japan’s domestic market.
