Curator and Researcher, AIMS Museo Maritimo, Philippines (Philippines)

Daryl Abarca is a Museum Curator and Researcher at AIMS Museo Maritimo, where he is responsible for collections management, research and publications, and curatorial exhibitions. He holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Santo Tomas, where he co-founded Talisik: An Undergraduate Journal of Philosophy. He is currently pursuing a Master's in Research and Development (R&D) Management at the University of the Philippines.

Before joining the museum, he worked as a Research Analyst focusing on corporate social responsibility and ESG reporting. At Museo Maritimo, he integrates these approaches into curatorial work by implementing reuse and recycling practices and developing programs that engage the maritime community.

He is the Editor of Timon: The Proceedings of the Philippine Maritime Heritage Forum, Co-author of Plying the Straits, and serves as Secretariat for the International Council of Museums (ICOM) Philippines. His work reflects an interest in how museums can foster social engagement and serve as platforms for learning.
