About the Event
The Hong Kong Maritime Museum invites Hong Kong artist Frog King, Kwok Mang Ho (on 24/1/2023), and the young wildlife artist and scientist, Carmen Or (on 25/1/2023), respectively to bring double happiness and double luck in the Year of Rabbit!
On 24/1/2023, Hong Kong artist Frog King, Kwok Mang Ho, will perform his calligraphy and Chinese ink art by drawing fai chun at HKMM. His uniquely bold expressive splashes and strokes for depicting the flowers, birds and animals make him a significant Hong Kong artist adored by many people. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet him!
On the following day 25/1/2023, the young artist and scientist, Carmen Or, will demonstrate and give away originally-designed fai chun which feature several marine animals, including sea hare, bluefin gurnard, greater crested tern and more.

About Frog King, Kwok Mang Ho:
The Hong Kong artist, Kwok Mang Ho, is also called Frog King. He is versatile who has produced numerous artworks, performances, sculptures, paintings and installations in over 3,000 art events. Kwok’s profound foundation and understanding of traditional Chinese arts, especially in ink art and calligraphy, have made him a significant Hong Kong artist. His works are collected by important museums and collectors worldwide.
About Carmen Or:
Carmen Or’s profession is an environmental scientist. She likes drawing and Chinese ink art since childhood, who becomes specialised in presenting the beauty of nature and wildlife. Incorporated with her science knowledge, she is known of capturing different facets of the wildlife naturally and accurately in her artworks.
In this crossover event with HKMM Swire Marine Discovery Centre, Carmen will create original designs of fai chun in Chinese ink art that convey marine conversation messages.
