About the Event

Seoi-lou-waa (literally, "water-folk language"), spoken by the boat people of Hong Kong, is a historical testament to the lives of fishermen and serves as a medium for their songs. This lecture will compare the phonological and lexical features of Seoi-lou-waa with those of Hong Kong Cantonese, aiming to deepen the public's understanding of local languages.
