About the Event
We are holding the “ARMS” Marine Science Workshop again because of the overwhelming responses we received! The museum collaborated with Swire Institute of Marine Science (SWIMS) of the University of Hong Kong and The Nature Conservancy Hong Kong (TNC) to hold this workshop which allows participants to have a taste of becoming a marine scientist through using the research equipment, Autonomous Reef Monitoring Structures (ARMS).
To study the marine environment, marine scientists from SWIMS use ARMS to sample the diversity of marine wildlife in many of Hong Kong’s coastal habitats including coral communities, mangroves, sea grasses, oyster beds, and rocky reefs.
In this workshop, participants will help to retrieve and process an ARMS with the guidance of marine scientists. Besides learning the science behind ARMS, you will also learn to sort and identify different marine organisms in the workshop!
If you would like to participate in this exciting workshop, please…
