About the Event
Since the 19th century, land reclamation has played a vital role in Hong Kong’s urban development, transforming the coastal area of Central into a bustling commercial and cultural center. Combining with the “Victoria Peak - Central Green & Heritage Trail,” Hong Kong Maritime Museum and The Conservancy Association jointly organize the “Roaming the Coastline: City Guided Tour” to explore the historical architectures along the Central waterfront.
The tour will start from the Hong Kong Maritime Museum, with the curatorial team introducing the featured exhibits. Participants will gain insights into the development of Hong Kong’s maritime industry. Led by Dr. Wong King Chung, Senior Conservation Manager of The Conservancy Association, the tour will take you on a stroll through Hong Kong City Hall, General Post Office, the Cenotaph, the Statue Square, Old Supreme Court, the HSBC Building and Queen’s Road Central, retracing the shifting traces of the Central waterfront.
