On 27 June 2026, the Hong Kong Maritime Museum (HKMM) will open its doors for free admission to celebrate the International Day of the Seafarers, an occasion dedicated to raising public awareness and honouring the invaluable contributions of seafarers worldwide.
This year’s Family Fun Day at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum is themed “Safe Sailing Across the World.” The 2026 campaign highlights the hardship, pressure and risks that seafarers can face and is framed around the line “Carrying global trade, carrying the risks”. This event offers a warm and family-friendly interpretation of this message by emphasising safety, care and responsibility — core values at the heart of maritime life. The programme invites the Hong Kong community to enjoy a range of engaging activities while discovering how seafarers connect the world through safe and reliable journeys.
