About the Event
Buddha's Birthday is approaching. While you're planning the long-weekend holiday, have you noticed thousands of fish, sea turtles, and other marine creatures are released into the ocean, carried by the prayers and wishes of practitioners? But where do they go after the release? And can that goodwill reach even further?
Cheuk-Ho WU, a marine biologist and Master of Buddhist Counselling student at the University of Hong Kong, invites you to join him on a journey that bridges science and the Dharma. Drawing on Buddhist canonical roots, marine ecological research, and personal experience in practice, the talk explores how compassion and wisdom can walk hand in hand in the modern world, treating the degrading ocean with empathy.
All are welcome — members of the public, conservation enthusiasts, citizen scientists, and anyone with a curious mind!
