About the Event

Many think rocky coastlines are rigid and lifeless. NO! That is not true for boulder fields which are prone to wave and typhoon disturbance and harbour various wildlife. In this talk and workshop, you will learn the rich boulder field biodiversity found in Hong Kong from experts and experience how ecologists identify and look for these interesting species on the shore!

The talk will be led by Dr. Tommy Hui, Ms. Cherry Wong and Mr. Adrian Wong from the Division of Science, Lingnan University. The team has conducted multiple research projects in Hong Kong's intertidal zone to investigate the relationships between the environment and behaviour, physiology and distribution of species, providing robust datasets for future research and coastal conservation in Hong Kong.
