Principle 3 of the UNESCO Ocean Literacy states, "The ocean is a major influence on weather and climate". Our ocean is the heart of the planet’s climate, underlying its importance to support every life form on earth. However, at the alarming rate of climate change, cool ocean water is warming; vibrant corals are bleaching; sea levels are rising; The ocean is deoxygenating, and its pH is dropping... The blue alarm bell is ringing urgently!
We are pleased to invite Ms. Eliza CHAN of the Hong Kong Observatory to deliver a public talk on “Blue Alarm Bell: Ocean Crises under Climate Change”. In this talk, we will explore the causes of climate change and the ocean crises it unleashes and share action plans to safeguard our blue home.
