Treasures of the Deep
Surveying and Documentaing the Underwater Heritage of Hong Kong

Abstract: Hong Kong is recognised as an area worthy of developing underwater cultural heritage research since its history is inextricably linked to its development as one of the busiest ports in the world.  The coast has been subjected to active hazards known to play a role in creating shipping casualities (e.g., pirates and typhoons), making itlikely that there is much to uncover.  It is also known that Hong Kong contains hundreds of archaeological sites dating back 7,000, many located along the coast with remains underwater.

This new publication takes a look and ahead at this important topic of research.
