Marine Science Program Coordinator

HKMM has received financial support from the Government of HKSAR to establish and operate a new marine science program designed to equip visitors with the necessary knowledge to appreciate the complexity and value of the local underwater environment.

The successful applicant will have a suitable academic qualifications, significant experience in public education and a passion for marine science. Previous experience working with an NGO, along with proven management and teambuilding skills are highly desirable.

  • Develop a suite of attractive interactive marine science programs including all resource materials suitable for primary and secondary students in accordance with general guidelines established by the Museum.
  • Establish, lead, and train a team of volunteer educators committed to stimulating an interest among student visitors in the ecology of Hong Kong waters.
  • Build on existing collaborative partnerships with universities, conservation organisations and relevant government agencies to deliver educational content and activities such as short-term displays, lectures, and talks.
  • Develop permanent exhibition content as part of a team with a specific focus on Hong Kong waters.
  • Deliver hands on programs at both the primary and secondary school level in person and to support specialists on a need’s basis
  • Represent HKMM at educational forums, schools, institutes and with the media to promote the public programs being delivered at the museum.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as minute taking and budget management in support of the program.
