Hong Kong Maritime Museum ¡V celebrating centuries of coastal culture

We welcome you to the Hong Kong Maritime Museum in historic Murray House at Stanley Plaza, one of Hong Kong's most popular visitor destinations. This exciting and innovative attraction includes semi-permanent and special exhibitions, dynamic displays, educational events and a Museum Shop. Here you will see how China, Asia and the West have contributed through the ages to the development of boats, ships, maritime exploration and trade, and naval warfare. While the Museum concentrates on the South China coast and its adjacent seas, it also covers global trends and provides a comprehensive account of Hong Kong's growth and development as a major world port and top maritime centre.

The Hong Kong Maritime Museum is a non-profit educational institution funded by Hong Kong's international shipping community.

Mission

The mission of the Hong Kong Maritime Museum is to stimulate public interest in the world
of ships and the sea with particular reference to the South China coast and adjacent seas and to the growth of Hong Kong as a major port and international maritime centre,
and in doing so highlight the major developments in and cross-fertilization between Chinese, Asian and western maritime traditions.
